My transformation or how I became homeless in the USA

My Transformation or How I Became Homeless in the USA is a four-part vlog film series released on the author’s YouTube channel Okrasheno by Max Karplev. Max is a professional colourist, author of the book It’s a Sign, filmmaker, and producer.

The total runtime of the series is 4 hours. Long-form vlogs like this blend scripted/directorial approaches with whatever tools are readily available on hand — a bold mix of carefully directed cinematic moments and whatever gear was on hand in the chaos of the streets.

One of the main and core aesthetic goals was to bring everything into a harmonious visual whole: the project used a wide range of cameras from RED cinema cameras to tiny action cams like the DJI Osmo series.

Different looks were applied to match various locations, emphasizing the atmosphere of each place and providing visual variety to reflect shifts in mood. This kept the viewing experience engaging and pleasant for the audience, avoiding any sense of monotony.

We also teamed up for a full run of 12 regular episodes where I was deeply involved in every one of them, handling the color grading and visual polishing.

That means a massive 13 hours of fully produced, color-graded, and cinematically finished content that I directly contributed to and shaped visually. All of it is out there right now on the channel — ready for you to dive in and experience the full, vibrant transformation.
