When the scene breathes – the viewer breathes with it: a slow inhale of calm, a sharp exhale of terror, a shared sigh of relief or sorrow.

I work with exactly this – so that color becomes an extension of the character’s breath and the viewer’s. 

Color doesn’t shout or explain, it supports the story, like the rhythm of our own breathing, which we only notice when it changes”.
